Why master Sexual Energy?
Sexual energy is the foundation for all human activity. It is the most potent force within us, but if left uncontrolled, it can manifest as negative emotions like desire, anger, greed, and attachment. These are known as the "enemies of the mind" in ancient texts.
Vajroli Mudra teaches us to redirect this sexual energy, utilizing it productively and properly for higher purposes. Instead of wasting it on fleeting pleasures, we can harness it for our spiritual growth. This energy, also known as Retas, is the essence of life itself. By mastering it, we can cultivate Ojas, a powerful energy that fuels our journey of self-discovery.
In simpler terms, Vajroli Mudra helps us transform our sexual energy from a source of outward desires into a source of inner strength and spiritual awakening.
The Practice
There are three stages to Vajroli:
First Stage: Through yoga postures, breath control, and a controlled diet, you gain control over your body, particularly the reproductive organs.
Second Stage: Special techniques such as Bandhas are used to master urinary control, allowing one to hold and release urine at will. This technique is difficult to master and demands long-term practice. Practitioners should be careful while performing this, as an incorrect procedure may backfire, affecting physical and mental health.
Third Stage: This is the advanced stage, where a liquid is injected through the reproductive organ using a specific kind of tube. The injected liquid is prepared by mixing water and some therapeutic oils. In men, this practice is called Vajroli, and in women, Sahajoli. HathaRatnavali, an authoritative text, mentions this technique.
Conclusion
Vajroli isn't about renouncing family life but about using sexual energy effectively. By not wasting it, you can transform it into "Ojas," a spiritual power that unlocks higher consciousness.
Although highly beneficial, Vajroli is not possible for everyone. It's only for those deemed ready by a Guru after a lengthy evaluation. If done properly, it can lead to spiritual progress.
